Inside the Red Sox

-

-Last season: 89-73, third place in the American League East

-Manager: Terry Francona, eighth season

-General manager: Theo Epstein, ninth season

-Projected lineup: C Jarrod Saltalamacchia, 1B Adrian Gonzalez, 2B Dustin Pedroia, SS Marco Scutaro, 3B Kevin Youkilis, LF Carl Crawford, CF Jacoby Ellsbury, RF J.D. Drew, DH David Ortiz

-Projected rotation: LH Jon Lester, RH John Lackey, RH Clay Buchholz, RH Josh Beckett, RH Daisuke Matsuzaka

-Closer: RH Jonathan Papelbon

-Roster question: What will become of the bullpen? Red Sox relievers ranked 12th in the AL last year with a 4.24 ERA, and Papelbon had by far his worst season, losing seven games, blowing eight saves and posting a 3.90 ERA. Boston brought in former Chicago White Sox closer Bobby Jenks, whowill probably start the season as a setup man alongside Daniel Bard but would be ready to step in if Papelbon falters. The club also needs to settle on a lefty reliever, with Rich Hill, Hideki Okajima and Dennys Reyes the top candidates.
