Martin St. Louis had three goals and an assist to move Tampa Bay six points back of a playoff spot. “We are just trying to survive, and I think we did that today getting two points,” St. Louis said.

PENGUINS 4, Blue Jackets 2

Pittsburgh goalie Brad Thiessen made 21 saves to win his NHL debut, and Evgeni Malkin scored his 37th goal. Thiessen’s first save smacked against his mask about four minutes into the game, and he quickly settled in. “I tried just to stay focused and enjoy the moment,” he said. “It was everything I expected and more.” Columbus captain Rick Nash scored a short-handed goal.

STARS 3, Canucks 2

Loui Eriksson scored at 3:52 of overtime to extend Dallas’ winning streak to four. He had hit the post earlier in overtime. Teammate Michael Ryder tied the score with 52.5 seconds left in regulation.

SENATORS 5, Islanders 2

Robin Lehner, making his first start since being recalled from the minors to replace injured Craig Anderson, made 28 saves for Ottawa. Milan Michalek, Jason Spezza, Jim O’brien, Chris Neil and Kyle Turris scored.

PANTHERS 4, Canadiens 2

Stephen Weiss scored twice as Florida rallied from a 2-0 deficit and improved to 3-0 against Montreal this season.

WILD 4, Sharks 3

Matt Cullen and Jed Ortmeyer scored 74 seconds apart in the third period as Minnesota rallied from 2-0 and 3-2 deficits. Ortmeyer’s goal was his first NHL score since March 28, 2010, when he was with San Jose. Sharks coach Todd Mclellan had to leave the game when he was hit in the head with a stick, but the team said he was fine.

DUCKS 3, Blackhawks 1

Teemu Selanne scored a power-play goal and had an assist to move into 20th place on the NHL’S career scoring list as Anaheim kept rolling. Jonas Hiller made 18 saves in his 21st consecutiv­e start for the Ducks, who won for the ninth time in 12 games. Selanne, 41, caught and passed Luc Robitaille with 1,395 points, and his 246th power-play goal put him one behind Robitaille for fourth in history. Selanne’s goal was his 21st, making him the second oldest to score at least 21 in a season, trailing only Gordie Howe, who did it twice after his 41st birthday.
