Scully misses Dodgers’ home opener
Hall of Fame broadcaster Vin Scully missed the Los Angeles Dodgers’ home opener for the first time in 35 years because of a cold. Scully, 84, was advised by doctors to rest and missed Tuesday’s game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Scully, who joined the Dodgers in 1950 and is the dean of Major League Baseball broadcasters, was preparing to announce the Masters golf tournament in 1977 when he previously missed the team’s home opener. He did announce the Dodgers’ games at the San Diego Padres this season.
