Prindle’s MMA title fight delayed again

-

An injury has forced mixed martial artist Eric Prindle to delay his attempt to win Bellator Fighting Championships’ heavyweight title. Prindle was supposed to face champion Cole Konrad on Friday at Bellator 65 in Atlantic City. The matchup has been moved to the Bellator 70 show May 25.

Last month, Prindle won Bellator’s latest heavyweight tournament without fighting. Thiago Santos failed to make weight despite getting an extra week because Prindle suffered flu-like symptoms a few days before they were supposed to fight. That bout was a rematch of their first fight that ended in a no-contest in November.

Zayed Al Zayani, the chairman of the Bahrain International Circuit, accused extremist groups of using “scare-mongering tactics” in a bid to exaggerate the unrest that could force the cancellation of the Formula One race this month. A jailed activist on a two-month hunger strike has also galvanized rights groups that claim the race should be put off.
