-Hoops final. CBS’ NCAA basketball championship drew 20.9 million viewers Monday, up a bit from last year’s 20.1 million, and made the network’s weekly win a slam dunk.

-Voice softens. The first live performance show of NBC’S

The Voice dropped to a seasonlow 10.8 million viewers Monday, and Tuesday’s first results show claimed 8.5 million.

-Not too scandalous. ABC’S midseason drama Scandal opened with a middling 7.3 million viewers Thursday but held on to more of its Grey’s Anatomy lead-in than spinoff Private Practice has in recent pairings.

-Few NBC laughs. The time-slot premiere of Betty White’s Off Their Rockers claimed an OK 7.4 million viewers Wednesday, improving over

Whitney in the slot, but the debut of Best Friends Forever, which followed, sank to 3.9 million, and two final episodes

of Bent averaged 2.1 million.

-Finales. CW’S One Tree Hill, ending a nine-season run with a typical 1.4 million viewers; ABC’S Happy Endings (a seasonlow 3.7 million Wednesday behind a Modern Family rerun); Bravo’s Real Housewives of

Atlanta (2.3 million Sunday).

-Pay- cable corner. Sunday’s season openers of Showtime’s Nurse Jackie (653,000 viewers), The Big C (581,000) and The Borgias (605,000) were modest, but

Jackie rose from last season’s Monday totals. The premiere of Starz’s Magic City was low with 293,000 Friday, though a weekearlier sneak preview of the same episode claimed 538,000. The finale of HBO’S Life’s Too Short averaged 518,000 Sunday.

-Morning wars. Despite Katie Couric’s guest-hosting stint at ABC’S Good Morning

America, NBC’S Today kept its longtime weekly lead with 5.1 million viewers to GMA’S 4.9 million.
