Police chief killed, 4 hurt in N.H.
One police officer was killed and four other officers were injured in a shootout in the small New Hampshire seacoast town of Greenland when a suspect fired on officials entering a home while conducting a drug investigation.
State Attorney General Mike Delaney said the officer killed was Greenland Police Chief Michael Maloney, 48, who was due to retire within two weeks. The department has just seven officers. The four injured were from other departments. Delaney said the shooter and a woman remained holed up in the house late Thursday.
