Two Coast Guard mates killed in Alaska

A U.S. Coast Guard communications station in Kodiak, Alaska, and local schools were locked down after two guard members were shot and killed, officials said. Guard Capt. Jesse Moore said it was “possible” that a suspect remains at large, but said murder-suicide had not been ruled out.

“We are deeply saddened that we lost two shipmates,” Moore said. He called it a “rare occurrence” and promised that authorities would do “everything possible to ensure we find out exactly what happened.”
