Earnhardt: ‘I’m not Nostradamus’

- — Seth Livingstone

FORT WORTH — Despite four top-10 finishes in the NASCAR season’s first six races, Dale Earnhardt Jr. can’t avoid the topic of his 135-race victory drought. Kevin Harvick can sympathize. He remembers dealing with similar questions when he went 115 races without a win after the 2007 Daytona 500. “To live it on a weekly basis and have to answer some crazy questions — I feel sorry for him sometimes,” Harvick said Thursday, in advance of Saturday’s Samsung Mobile 500 at Texas Motor Speedway. As much as he’d like to know the answer, Earnhardt said he wasn’t facing the question all that often — at least to his face. “People know I’m not Nostradamus,” said Earnhardt, who is second in the Sprint Cup standings, “so they don’t ask me questions about the future.”
