Pitino says his son will coach FIU

Louisville basketball coach Rick Pitino said Sunday that his son Richard Pitino, 29, was leaving his staff to become coach at Florida International. The younger Pitino would replace Isiah Thomas, fired April 6 after going 26-65 in three seasons. Also, ESPN.COM reported that Larry Brown, 71, would be interviewed Sunday by Southern Methodist for its basketball vacancy.
