Edwards, ripped by ex, takes high road

NASCAR star Carl Edwards was surprised to learn of Olympic swimmer and ex-girlfriend

Amanda Beard’s portrayal of him in her memoir released last week. In 16 pages, she said Edwards was controlling and jealous in a relationship that was too much about him. They dated in 2006.

“I’m not going to bash her. . . . The hard part is to even talk about it. It really caught me off guard,” Edwards said Friday. “All the correspondence we’ve ever had between 2006 and now has all been good. I consider us friends.”
