General Lee at Augusta?
Bubba Watson’s win in the Masters was a popular one for those who run Augusta National, given his University of Georgia roots and appreciation for everything the green jacket means.
But Augusta’s membership might be having second thoughts about Bubba after seeing a photo shopped picture he posted on his Twitter page of the General Lee — the original model used on the Dukes of Hazzard TV show — that Watson purchased at auction in January for $110,000. NASCAR wouldn’t allow the General Lee to lead the parade lap at a race in Phoenix in March because of the Confederate flag that’s painted on the roof. But could anyone keep it off the grounds at Augusta National if that’s how Watson decides to arrive at next year’s Masters?
