Dantas wins Bellator bantamweight title

Mixed martial artist Eduardo Dantas won the Bellator Fighting Championships bantamweight title by beating champion Zach Makovsky on Friday in Atlantic City. Referee Keith Peterson stopped the fight 3:26 into the second round when Makovsky went unconscious from Dantas’ head-and-arm choke.

-Hometown favorite Alexander Gustafsson outstruck Thiago Silva to win an Ultimate Fighting Championship light heavyweight fight with a unanimous decision Saturday in Stockholm. It was UFC’S first visit to Sweden.
