Hutcherson to receive top GLAAD award
The Hunger Games actor Josh Hutcherson, 19, will receive the highest honor from the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation on Saturday. At a ceremony in Los Angeles, he will be presented with the Vanguard Award, which recognizes media professionals who raise awareness about the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community. In 2010, Hutcherson starred as the son of a lesbian couple in the movie The Kids Are All Right, which received a GLAAD Media Award for outstanding film. He is one of the founders of the LGBT ally organization Straight But Not Narrow (SBNN), and he has been outspoken about why equality for LGBT people is important.
