Not many visit ‘NYC,’ ‘Apt. 23’
-Late bows. CBS cop show NYC 22, the final network premiere of this TV season, recruited 8.9 million viewers Sunday, below CSI: Miami’s typical turnout. Wednesday’s opener of ABC comedy Don’t Trust the B - - - - in Apt. 23 drew a modest 6.9 million but did a better job of holding on to its Modern Family lead-in (10.4 million) than Happy Endings did.
-Finales. ABC’S Body of Proof claimed a typical 10 million viewers Tuesday; NBC’S Up All Night was bleary with 3.1 million Thursday behind The Office (4.4 million, tying February’s series low). On cable, FX’S Justified (Tuesday) and USA’S Psych (Wednesday) wrapped their third and sixth seasons with 2.7 million apiece.
-Iceberg! ABC’S four-hour Titanic miniseries sank with an average 4.1 million viewers Saturday and Sunday, when the concluding hour sent companion GCB to a series-low 4.4 million. In another nautical disaster, Lifetime’s premiere of dating-reality series Love for Sail drew 292,000 Tuesday following the debut of spinoff Dance Moms: Miami (952,000). And against it, Shannen Doherty’s latest comeback try, WE’S Shannen Says, claimed 172,000.
-Girl talk. The debut of HBO’S buzzy comedy Girls was low with 872,000 viewers Sunday behind the series finale of Eastbound and Down (1.1 million) and the steady Game of Thrones (3.8 million).
-Legendary. The debut of Nickelodeon’s animated The Legend of Korra commanded a solid 4.5 million viewers Saturday morning and ranked fourth for the week on cable. In other cable openers, Discovery’s Deadliest Catch caught 3.1 million Tuesday; TLC’S Mama’s Boys of the Bronx was low with 817,000 Monday; and Week 2 of Lifetime’s The Client List (2.9 million) was up slightly Sunday from last week’s opener.
