His father, Ron Holmes, played basketball at Southern California. His mother, Faye Muhammad, ran track and played basketball at Long Beach State. His sister, Asia Muhammad, is a pro tennis player, ranked No. 392 on the WTA Tour. His brother, Rashad Muhammad, is a 6-5 junior guard for Bishop Gorman. Favorite meal: Steak. Second-best tennis player in family: I would say myself. I used to play a lot. I don’t really play now.
Favorite book: Wit, by Margaret Edson. It’s (a one-act play) about a woman who has cancer and she’s going through a lot of stuff in life.
Favorite teacher: Mr. (Christopher) Zunno for English. He makes the class interesting.
Aha! moment: My eighth-grade summer. I really started getting better and I was hitting a growth spurt. I was like 6-3 and we started winning a lot of games for AAU and that’s when I pretty much knew I could be pretty good at this.
Favorite dunk: I like doing the 360 dunk. I love doing it in a game. I feel comfortable doing it.
I’d like to meet: Kobe Bryant. That’s my favorite player of all time.
First job: I haven’t had one. I take out out the trash, but that’s for free.
