Alleged Sandusky victims seek privacy
Lawyers for four alleged victims of former Penn State University assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky have petitioned a Pennsylvania judge to protect their identities from being publicly disclosed at Sandusky’s child sex-abuse trial.
In court papers filed Tuesday, the lawyers asked Judge John Cleland to assign pseudonyms to the accusers to guard against potential “social stigma, embarrassment and humiliation.”
The alleged victims requesting the protection were designated in a Pennsylvania grand jury report as Nos. 3, 4, 5 and 7. Jury selection in the case is set to begin Tuesday. — Kevin Johnson
