NEWS Jared Loughner will be sentenced today after he earlier pleaded guilty to the Tucson mass shooting that wounded former congresswo­man Gabrielle Giffords. Loughner pleaded guilty to 19 counts in August, nearly two years after he killed six people and wounded 13 others during a Congress on Your Corner event outside a shopping center. The plea agreement allows the mentally disturbed 24-year-old to avoid the death penalty, but he likely will spend the rest of his life in federal prison.
