VIOLATION MEANS PRISON FOR ANTI-MUSLIM FILMMAKER

-

A California man behind an antiIslam film that led to violence in the Middle East was sentenced Wednesday to one year in prison for violating probation stemming from a 2010 bank fraud conviction.

Mark Basseley Youssef, 55, who served 21 months for fraud, was sentenced Wednesday by federal Judge Christina Snyder after he admitted to four of eight alleged violations including obtaining a fraudulent California driver’s license. None of the violations had to do with the content of Innocence of Muslims. The film depicts Mohammed as a religious fraud, pedophile and womanizer. The movie sparked violence in several countries that left dozens dead.
