Republicans are targeting Democrat Mark Begich as the former Anchorage mayor seeks a second term in the U.S. Senate. Begich is touting his Alaska roots and independence as three Republicans — Tea Party favorite Joe Miller, the 2010 GOP nominee, Lt. Gov. Mead Treadwell and former attorney general Dan Sullivan — duke it out for the chance to face him in the fall. President Obama lost Alaska by 14 points in 2012.
