Green day:

Last year, John Green attracted nearly 2,000 screaming young fans to the first-ever BookCon while promoting the movie adaptation of his best-selling teen novel The

Fault in Our Stars. It’s likely to be déjà vu all over again at BookCon this year when Green shows up for a panel May 30 in New York to share clips from the movie version of his young-adult book

Paper Towns. The film opens July 24. Paper Towns is No. 10 on USA TODAY’s Best-Selling Books list. A movie tie-in paperback edition is due May 19.

‘Boys’ for boys:

The Boys in

the Boat, Daniel James Brown’s inspirational non-fiction account of America’s young crew team during the 1936 Olympics, is the sleeper hit that has been compared to Laura Hillenbrand’s No.

1 best seller Unbroken. Now Boys (No. 25) is following Unbroken by spinning off a version for young readers. An edition of

Boys for readers 10 and up will be published by Viking Sept. 8. Unbroken: The Young Adult Adaptation (which tells the story of World War II POW Louis Zamperini) was published for the holiday season last year and made the top 50.

Times two:

Chiquis Rivera has not one but two best sellers with her memoir, Forgiveness. That’s because both the English version (No. 32) and Spanish version, called Perdon (No. 35) land in the top 50 this week. Rivera is the daughter of singer Jenni Rivera, who died in a plane crash in Mexico in 2012. Mother and daughter had always been close, but in her book, Chiquis reveals the rift that led them to stop speaking to each other in the final two months of her mother’s life. Chiquis Rivera has been promoting her book on Englishand Spanish-language TV, including a visit to the Today show.
