GRIZZLIES’ GASOL STAYS PUT

Marc Gasol has agreed to a fiveyear contract with the Memphis Grizzlies that will pay him $110 million, according to a person familiar with the deal. The person spoke to USA TODAY Sports on condition of anonymity because contracts can’t be signed until after the free agency moratorium ends Thursday. The contract has a player option after the fourth year. This was the move expected all along for Gasol, who grew up in Memphis when brother Pau was with the Grizzlies.

David West has agreed to a contract with the San Antonio Spurs for one year and $1.4 million, according to a person familiar with the deal. The person spoke to USA TODAY Sports on condition of anonymity because deals can’t be signed until the free agency moratorium ends Thursday. West, 34, declined a $12.2 million player option to stay with the Indiana Pacers next season. — Sam Amick

Manu Ginobili will return next season with the San Antonio Spurs, he announced on Twitter. Ginobili, 37, is a 13-year veteran in San Antonio and has played on four of its championsh­ip teams. He contemplat­ed retirement when the Spurs were eliminated from the playoffs by the Los Angeles Clippers in the first round.

Mo Williams is teaming up with LeBron James again. Williams tweeted Monday night that he was going back to the Cleveland Cavaliers, with whom he was an All- Star while playing alongside James in 2009. He averaged 14.2 points playing for the Minnesota Timberwolv­es and Charlotte Hornets last season.
