Years & Years, ‘Shine’
Each release from Years & Years increases the anticipation for the British electronica trio’s debut album, Communion, out this Friday. Shine, with its luminously danceable synth-pop, is set to build on the success of previous single King. American audiences might finally succumb to frontman Olly Alexander’s irresistibly boyish charm as he sings, “It’s you that I’ve been waiting to find” in his best Michael Jackson falsetto.
In September, Years & Years won the BBC Music Sound of 2015 award, taking over from previous winner Sam Smith. Too bad U.S. audiences will have to wait until September for their too-brief North American tour.
