TEXAS FOOTBALL PLAYER DIED OF ANEURYSM
The death of an Alto (Texas) High School football player is being attributed to an aneurysm, according to a school district official.
Cam’ron Matthews died Saturday after collapsing on the sideline during Friday’s game against Carlisle (Price, Texas). According to multiple news reports, school Superintendent Kerry Birdwell said the school’s athletics director was with the family when a doctor informed them of the cause. Birdwell said the doctor told the family the aneurysm might not have been football-related. An aneurysm is a blood-filled bulge in a blood vessel wall that can rupture. Whether a specific event precipitated the rupture is unclear. Warning signs for aneurysms are so vague they could be mistaken for a concussion.
