SOCK, BAGHDATIS ADVANCE

Jack Sock of the USA and Marcos Baghdatis of Cyprus advanced to the second round of the Stockholm Open with hardfought wins Tuesday. Seventhseeded Sock beat Pablo Carreno Busta of Spain 6-3, 6-7 (7-1), 6-3, while 2009 champion Baghdatis was taken to a first-set tiebreaker by American Sam Querrey before winning 7-6 (7-2), 6-1. Sock next meets Fernando Verdasco of Spain, while Baghdatis faces fourth-seeded Bernard Tomic of Australia.
