TONIGHT ON TV

ARROW

CW, 8 ET/PT Odds are Oliver and Diggle are about to get a lesson in cooperation as their go-ourseparate-ways approach to dealing with Damien (Neal McDonough) puts them both at risk. While they learn the wisdom of playing nice together, Laurel talks Thea into asking her father (John Barrowman) for a favor.

THE GOLDBERGS

ABC, 8:30 ET/PT Elsewhere on the learning curve, Laney’s unexpected relationship with Barry has reached the teach-him-a-lesson phase as she tries to school him out of his insecurities. This being a sitcom, the lesson backfires.

EMPIRE

FOX, 9 ET/PT Ne-Yo and Adam Rodriguez join the ever-expanding guest-star parade on an episode that, one hopes, will be a tad less insane than last week’s. (Speaking of: Either dial the prosecutor’s villainy back a notch, or give that poor woman a mustache to twirl.) Let’s just accept that Lucious, who is never going to win any father-of-the-year prizes, would think the best response to his son’s squirreliness would be to bring him an electronic corpse-divining rod. But even at that, isn’t unabashed pride an odd reaction to the news that your son killed and buried a man, even a man you hated? Not to mention that the actual killer was your daughter-in-law, and she killed the guy by accident — so, you know, there’s really not a lot of cause here for paternal celebration.
