BIG NUMBERS BUT BIG LOSS

- Doug Orth, FFToday.com

Antonio Brown has been ridiculously productive whenever Ben Roethlisberger has been able to start. The problem is the Pittsburgh Steelers duo haven’t seen much time on the field together this season — and probably won’t for a while.

Roethlisberger, who already missed four games this season with a sprained knee ligament, sprained his left foot in the fourth quarter of a 38-35 victory Sunday against the Oakland Raiders and is expected to miss more games. It has been a trying year for Pittsburgh, which lost star running back Le’Veon Bell to a knee injury for the season last week.

The Steelers were able to work through their latest adversity, however, as Brown set a team record with 284 yards receiving — the ninth-best mark in NFL history — on 17 catches and added 22 yards on the ground. Not to be outdone, running back DeAngelo Williams amassed 225 total yards (170 rushing) and scored twice. TITANIC EFFORTS IN BIG EASY One week after tying an NFL record with seven passing touchdowns in a 52-49 victory vs. the New York Giants, New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees accounted for four more scores (one rushing) against the Tennessee Titans. It wasn’t enough.

Marcus Mariota returned from a two-game absence by throwing for 371 yards and matched the nine-time Pro Bowler score for score, throwing his fourth TD pass in overtime to complete a 34-28 comeback win. Two of those scores went to tight end Delanie Walker, who finished with 95 yards in interim head coach Mike Mularkey’s debut. BUFFALO STAMPEDE LeSean McCoy ran for 112 yards and a score before leaving with a minor shoulder injury and backup Karlos Williams added 110 yards and two more TDs as the Buffalo Bills gashed the Miami Dolphins for 266 yards on the ground.
