Nation’s finest cops awarded highest honor

FACEBOOK FACEBOOK.COM/USATODAYOP­INION President Obama awarded the Public Safety Medal of Valor, the highest decoration for bravery exhibited by public safety officers in the U.S., to 13 police officers Monday.

Congrats to these, and all other police officers, who risk their lives to protect us. It is unfortunat­e that a few bad apples seem to make people forget about the entire crop. Bruce Mort

Law enforcemen­t officers go about their hazardous duties every day, while a good portion of the population either slanders them or gives them no support.
