TONIGHT ON TV

- CRITIC’S CORNER Robert Bianco @BiancoRobert USA TODAY

GREY’S ANATOMY ABC, 8 ET/PT As Grey’s hits its season finale, let’s pause to marvel at the remarkable resilience of this long-running medical drama, which, as it ends its 12th season, is now ABC’s highest-rated drama. (Feel free at a later date to flip that around into a comment on the sad state of ABC’s drama development, but for today, stick to the bright side.) The season ends with Meredith and Maggie rallying around Amelia, while Jo reveals a secret to Alex, seemingly mundane situations given weight by viewers’ long-nourished attachment to the characters and the characters’ professional involvement in life-and-death situations. Like the series, those characters have survived a lot and lived on to fight another year — and these days on TV, that’s no small accomplishment.

THE BLACKLIST NBC, 9 ET/PT

Blacklist goes into its finale with two hanging questions: Is Lizzie really dead, and do viewers really want the coming spinoff ? You should expect only one answer, at best.

MOM CBS, 9 ET/PT One of TV’s finest sitcoms exits while tackling another real-world issue: the cost of higher education. Christy can’t pay for college, and while Bonnie’s solution might not work for everyone (or, well, anyone), it does allow the show to comment on a problem many people share — and to exit with mother and daughter working together as a team.

?? DARREN MICHAELS, WARNER BROS. ?? Bonnie (Allison Janney) and Christy (Anna Faris) deal with the high cost of getting an education on Mom.
