NUCLEAR SHARKS DISCOVERY, 9 ET/PT

This latest Shark Week entry may not be worth watching, and it almost certainly won’t live up to the horror-movie promise of its title. But you have to admit, that title made you look — which is the whole point.

GREATEST HITS ABC, 9 ET/PT

Most of us may not remember Your Hit Parade, but someone at ABC apparently does — and that could be a very good thing. Hosted by Arsenio Hall and Kelsea Ballerini, each episode will focus on the hit songs of a five-year period, with an eclectic mix of old and new artists to sing them. Among those set to perform are the Backstreet Boys, Bonnie Raitt, Boyz II Men, Chicago, En Vogue, Foreigner, John Legend, Little Big Town, LL Cool J, Meghan Trainor, REO Speedwagon, Rick Springfield and Wilson Phillips. Sight unseen, it sounds like fun.

SEX & DRUGS & ROCK & ROLL FX, 10 ET/PT

The music continues with the second-season premiere of this rock-fueled comedy starring Denis Leary and John Corbett as former band mates who reunite to launch the career of the daughter (Elizabeth Gillies) Leary’s character didn’t know he had. Opinions were divided last year between those who bought Leary’s character and enjoyed his performance (as I did) and those who didn’t, but in one aspect of Rock there was near universal agreement: Gillies is the real deal.

?? PATRICK HARBRON, FX ?? The very talented Elizabeth Gillies is Johnny Rock’s (Denis Leary) very talented daughter, Gigi.
