Campaign presents choice between flawed candidates

-

Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are both

flawed candidates running for president.

Clinton has questionable scruples, and she has made significant mistakes. As secretary of State, she set up an unsecured private server in her home for government email communications — which she used to send and receive top secret information. She had ultimate responsibility for the Benghazi debacle, where four Americans were killed by Islamic terrorists. And her family foundation has accepted contributions from foreign entities.

On the other hand, Trump is the most unqualified person to ever run for president. He is a vile loudmouth with possible bigoted views, who only cares about himself and does not respect our Constitution or our institutions. Trump could also have dictatorial tendencies. He has no knowledge of government operations and has no understanding of our domestic and world economies. And his lack of knowledge in foreign affairs and military matters will hurt us.

The choices are vote for whom you dislike the least, vote for a third party candidate, or do not vote. How sad. Donald Moskowitz Londonderry, N.H.

I believe it is necessary for Republicans to

choose another candidate based on Trump’s horrible comments toward women, Mexicans and Gold Star parents. Furthermore, 50 top aides or Cabinet members from previous Republican administrations have signed a letter stating Trump “lacks the character, values and experience” to be president and “would put at risk our country’s national security and well being.”

Clinton would be easily beaten by a Republican candidate who was respected by his party, knowledgeable about current issues, articulate and consistently truthful.

Right now Trump is losing to Clinton in the polls. But Clinton has proved to be untrustworthy and should not be president. America needs a candidate with integrity to vote for.

It would be in the Republican Party’s best interest to choose another candidate, or motivate Trump to drop out. Diane Markowitz Albertson, N.Y.
