U.S. VICTIMS OF STATE SPONSORED TERRORISM FUND
The Attorney General of the United States has appointed Mr. Kenneth R. Feinberg as the Special Master to administer the U.S. Victims of State Sponsored Terrorism Fund (the “Fund”), which provides compensation to certain individuals who were injured in acts of state sponsored terrorism. On July 14, 2016, the Special Master published a notice in the Federal Register regarding the eligibility requirements and procedures for the submission and consideration of applications to the Fund. Claims based on eligibility for those persons with final judgments dated before July 14, 2016 and those who qualify as an Iran hostage, or spouse or child thereof, must be filed on or before October 12, 2016. Claims based on eligibility for those persons who obtain final judgments on or after July 14, 2016 must be filed within 90 days of the date of obtaining those judgments.
