GUNNEVERA TOPS FIELD FOR FLORIDA DERBY

Gunnevera is the 9-5 morningline favorite for Saturday’s $1 million, Grade I Florida Derby at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach, Fla. The field will consist of 10, possibly 11 horses. After finishing second to Irish War Cry in the Holy Bull Stakes in his 3year-old debut, Gunnevera stamped himself the Florida Derby favorite with a runaway 5¾length romp in the Fountain of Youth Stakes on March 4. He won theDelta Downs Jackpot Stakes and the Saratoga Special Stakes as a 2-year-old.
