DNA LEADS TO ARREST IN MURDER OF MASS. JOGGER

DNA evidence and an attentive state trooper helped find the man authorities believe killed a New York City woman last summer who was out jogging near her mother’s Massachusetts home, authorities said Saturday.

“Good afternoon. We got him,” Worcester County District Attorney Joseph Early Jr. proclaimed at a news conference Saturday in Princeton, a small community in central Massachusetts.

The body of Vanessa Marcotte, 27, was found Aug. 7 in woods about a half-mile from her mother’s house, where the young woman was visiting family.

UNITED CHANGING POLICY AFTER DRAGGING INCIDENT

United Airlines is changing its policy and will no longer allow crew members to displace customers already on board.

The change comes after a passenger, David Dao, was dragged from a fully-booked United Express flight in Chicago because he refused to give up his seat to make room for crew members. Cellphone video of the incident sparked outrage and created a public-relations nightmare for United.

Under the change outlined in an internal April 14 email, a crew member must make must-ride bookings at least an hour before departure. Crews previously could be booked until departure time.

CLEVELAND POLICE: SUSPECT BROADCAST KILLING LIVE

Police in Cleveland were searching for a homicide suspect who they said broadcast a killing on Facebook Live and claimed to have committed “multiple other homicides” that authorities had yet to verify.

The suspect was identified as Steve Stephens, a 6-foot 1-inch African-American man, who said on Facebook that he had committed what he called an “Easter day slaughter.” Police said they couldn’t identify other victims.

Stephens was reported as driving a light-colored SUV. Police said he weighs 244 pounds, has a full beard and was considered armed and dangerous. He was last seen wearing a dark blue and gray or black striped polo shirt.
