‘NYT’ OFFERS BUYOUTS; LAYOFFS POSSIBLE

“The New York Times” said Wednesday it would begin offering buyouts to newsroom staff in a move to reduce the number of editors. If not enough volunteers take buyouts, layoffs may be needed, the newspaper said in a memo to employees.
