The Foo Fighters’ ‘Run’
The last time fans saw Dave Grohl and Co. on the road, the frontman was hobbled with a broken leg, playing guitar from his onstage throne. This week, the band returned, all limbs intact, with Run, their first official single since 2015. The track gets heavy quick as Grohl ditches prettilysung vocals from Run’s opening minute, screaming over an onslaught of guitars. Run’s melody returns in the chorus, its “Run for your life with me” anthem readymade for singalongs. Nearly 25 years into the band’s career, the Foos don’t seem like they’re changing the formula anytime soon.
