QUEEN OF THE SOUTH USA, 10 ET/PT

The queen returns: USA’s crime drama is back for its second season, starring Alice Braga as Teresa Mendoza, a woman working her way to the top of the drug-smuggling world. In the season premiere, Teresa allies with a peculiar smuggler, while Camila (Veronica Falcón) tries to rebuild her own domain.

THE MUMMY FX, 7 ET/PT

Before you see the stunt-packed Tom Cruise reboot (in theaters Friday), revisit the 1999 thriller (itself a remake of the 1932 film). This version of The Mummy is anchored by Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz, playing explorers who accidentally wake mummy Imhotep (Arnold Vosloo). It doesn’t turn out very well for them. Directed by Stephen Sommers, the movie has all the action, scares and ’90s hair you remember.

MISS PEREGRINE’S HOME FOR PECULIAR CHILDREN HBO, 8 ET/PT

If you’re looking for something a little offbeat and family friendly, this 2016 film might hit the spot.

Miss Peregrine, directed by Tim Burton, is adapted from the bestselling book by Ransom Riggs. The quirky fantasy is about a teen (Asa Butterfield) who discovers his connection to the magical home run by Miss Peregrine (Eva Green) and the children who live there. It includes a supporting cast of Samuel L. Jackson, Rupert Everett, Allison Janney and Judi Dench.
