PICKING UP WHERE LARSSON LEFT OFF

It’s a great opportunity to touch base with Lagercrantz, the Swedish author and journalist tapped to continue the work of the late Stieg Larsson, author of the first three novels in the blockbuster Millennium series. It all began with The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, a twisted tale of sexual assault and murder that follows fierce, damaged punk computer hacker Lisbeth Salander and her search for justice.

In The Girl Who Takes an Eye for an Eye, the imprisoned Salander exposes more dark secrets from her tragic childhood with the help of crusading journalist (and one-time lover) Mikael Blomkvist, publisher of Millennium magazine.

HITTING NO. 1, AND NOW A MOVIE

Lagercrantz hit No. 1 on USA TODAY’s Best-Selling Books list in 2015 with his first sanctioned Millennium thriller, The Girl in the Spider’s Web. That novel, in

which Salander rescues the autistic son of a murdered scientist, has been optioned for the movies with a whole new cast, including Claire Foy of The Crown as Salander. It’s set for release next year.
