Trump, Kim Jong Un play with people’s lives

-

News headlines warn that North Korea

Foreign Minister Ri Yong Ho is saying that President Trump’s comments are a declaration of war on North Korea.

That is a quantum leap into the possibility of a nuclear war. Everybody is on edge. This situation has gone from boiling to explosive. The American people can’t seem to have a normal day anymore. Isn’t anyone in Washington doing anything to control Trump and his inflammatory taunts to North Korea and Kim Jong Un? With weak and silent leaders in Washington just watching, what about our nation’s 50 governors? Are they also too silent and absent on their responsibility? Carolina C. Butler

Two egos playing tough-guy games with everyone else’s lives. Both President Trump and North Korean Leader Kim Jong Un are cowards, and neither deserves to be in his position of power. Megla Donys

These two sound like a couple of children in a schoolyard. If China is clearly in North Korea’s camp, does anyone think it won’t respond to an attack on North Korea from Trump? These are nuclear weapons we are talking about. The president is actually tweeting about blowing up a country with millions of people, potentially starting a nuclear war, or destroying a trade relationship that could cost Americans billions of dollars. It seems that a little diplomacy could be helpful. We need a true leader to take charge of this situation, put China in a room and start some serious negotiations (without his phone). Dave Small

I think North Korea should give it a rest. After all, it crossed Trump’s red line too many times to count; its leaders must be tired. Joshua Galvoni
