ELLIOTT WINS INJUNCTION ON SUSPENSION AGAIN
A federal judge in New York granted Ezekiel Elliott’s request for a preliminary injunction Tuesday as the Dallas Cowboys star running back again successfully delayed a six-game ban over domestic violence allegations. The decision handed down by Judge Paul Crotty of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York means the NFL will be “temporarily restrained” from enforcing the suspension. Elliott’s suspension would have started Sunday as the Cowboys face the San Francisco 49ers. New York is the third federal judicial venue to weigh in on the case that started in September before arbitrator Harold
Henderson upheld Elliott’s suspension, announced in August after a yearlong investigation. Lawyers for the NFL Players Association, who are representing Elliott, first filed, and secured an injunction in a federal court in Texas. That injunction, however, was vacated by the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals in a 2-1 decision announced on Thursday. The appeals court also requested U.S. District Court Judge Amos Maz
zant dismiss Elliott’s claim, which he did via a decision Tuesday.
