New in November: ‘Longmire,’ ‘Mudbound,’ ‘Godless’
Streaming highlights from the November calendars of major streaming and cable on-demand services:
Nov. 3
Alias Grace (Netflix). This series, based on historical fiction by Margaret Atwood ( The Handmaid’s Tale), tells the story of Grace Marks (Sarah Gadon), an Irish immigrant and maid sentenced to life in prison in 1843 for her role in the murders of her employer (Paul Gross) and his housemaid (Anna Paquin). She was exonerated 30 years later, and it remains unclear whether she was an active or unwitting accomplice in the crime.

Five By Five (Britbox). Idris Elba headlines the cast of these five interconnected short films set in London.
Nov. 11
War Dog: A Soldier’s Best Friend (HBO Go/Now). This documentary studies the relationships between U.S. Special Operations soldiers and their K-9 partners.
Nov. 14
Future Man (Hulu). After he wins an unbeatable video game, janitor Josh Futterman (Josh Hutcherson, The Hunger Games) is recruited by visitors from the future who believe he’s the key to saving the world. Seth Rogen executive produces.
Atomic Blonde (OnDemand). This spy thriller starring Charlize Theron as an undercover operative in the last days of the Cold War boasts excellent action sequences and an impeccable New Wave soundtrack.
Nov. 17
Mudbound (Netflix). When rain and mud cut off access to (and from) his primitive Mississippi cotton farm, tension rises between Henry McAllan (Jason Clarke) and his city-bred wife (Carey Mulligan) as well as with his PTSD-stricken WWII veteran brother (Garrett Hedlund). Meanwhile, one of their black tenant farmers (Jason Mitchell) returns home from fighting the Nazis only to realize racism is alive and well at home and living on their farm: McAllan family patriarch (Jona- than Banks). Based on the novel by Hillary Jordan.
Longmire (Netflix). As the Wyoming-based mystery returns for its sixth and final season, the search is on to find Henry (Lou Diamond Phillips), who has been kidnapped by Malachi (Graham Greene).
Nov. 20
Love, Lies and Records (Acorn). Ashley Jensen ( Catastrophe) plays a working mother who faces a daily parade of people registering marriages, births and deaths in her records office.
Nov. 21
Marvel’s Runaways (Hulu). Six teens must get over their dislike for one another when they have to unite against a common enemy: their apparently evil parents. Superpowers are involved.
Nov. 22
Godless (Netflix). This limited-series Western about an outlaw on the lam from his old outfit brings together an intriguing cast: Jeff Daniels ( The Newsroom), Michelle Dockery ( Downton Abbey), Jack O’Connell ( Unbroken), Scoot McNairy ( Halt and Catch Fire), Merritt Wever ( Nurse Jackie) and Thomas Brodie-Sangster ( Game of Thrones).

Trailer Park Boys: Out of the Trailer
Park: USA (Netflix). The denizens of this Candian mockumentary show (ranked sixth on the streaming network’s list of “binge-raced” series) unleash their antics on an unsuspecting America.
Nov. 29
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (Amazon). Rachel Brosnahan ( House of Cards) plays a 1950s Jewish housewife who gets into stand-up comedy after her husband leaves her. From Gilmore Girls creator Amy Sherman-Palladino.
