SOCIAL SECURITY CHECKS TO GROW IN 2019 BY 2.8%

Social Security recipients and other retirees will get a 2.8 percent boost in benefits next year. The cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) is the highest in seven years. The average retired worker will get about $39 a month more, the agency said, with the estimated average monthly payment rising to $1,461 a month.
