Hispanics underperform on Election Day

❚ In the 2014 midterm, Hispanic voter turnout was 27 percent, far below whites (45.8 percent) and blacks

(40.6 percent), and on par with Asians

(26.9 percent).

❚ Hispanic turnout has been falling for decades, from a high of 38 percent during the 1990 midterm to the 2014 figure, the lowest midterm turnout on record.
