EMPLOYERS POST RECORD NUMBER OF OPEN JOBS

U.S. employers posted more open jobs in August than at any time over the last two decades. Hiring also reached a record high. There are some 7.14 million open positions, the Labor Department said, compared to the 6.2 million people unemployed. The unemployment rate is 3.7 percent.
