Megyn Kelly was unjustly criticized

Megyn Kelly has drawn criticism for defending blackface on her show “Megyn Kelly Today.” She later publicly apologized, but the show was subsequently canceled by NBC.

There is no question that I, as a white woman, can’t ask about any issues raised or any contradiction or comparison I can make about political correctness that won’t be assailed as racist. In essence, I am silenced because of my whiteness. And isn’t that also racist?

Until we can actually talk about race without resorting to references about the talker’s own pigmentation in an effort to “understand,” how can we get past racism? Leigh Hlavaty Kelly made a mistake by apologizing. Apologies for such missteps are never accepted, not by the news media or by those who profess to have been offended. Chris Nelson
