One railroad worker dies, 2nd seriously hurt in Chicago blast

One railroad worker died Saturday and another was seriously hurt after an explosion near a Chicago station.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office said one of the men was pronounced dead early Saturday afternoon. Both had been hospitaliz­ed after the blast, the cause of which was unknown.

The workers were using torches to repair the tracks near the Grayland Station on the city’s northwest side.
