Visalia: When most people think of Steve Martin, the first image that pops up is the “wild and crazy” comic. So it might surprise many that Martin studied philosophy at California State University, Long Beach and considered becoming a philosophy professor instead of a comedian. He’s also a trustee of the Los Angeles Museum of Art and collects the art of the masters, including Picasso. Martin explores those interests – art and philosophy – in “Picasso at the Lapin Agile,” his 1993 play being staged through Sunday at the College of the Sequoias Theatre.
