We need policy changes on cosmetics
USA TODAY’s article on clean cosmetics was eyebrow raising. I’ve often wondered if cosmetics contain hazardous chemicals. I have recently been tested for high mercury levels that will not go down, and yet I ingest no foods that are high mercury. The doctors have been dumbfounded. We never addressed the makeup that I wear on a daily basis. Perhaps that is the culprit?
I believe women deserve a clear conscience when using these products, and we also deserve to have the Food and Drug Administration approve them before going to market. I appreciate USA TODAY for bringing this matter to light, and I hope we will see changes in policy in the near future.
