Diddy is opening up about how his life has changed following the death of his ex and mother of his children, Kim Porter.

The hip-hop icon and business mogul revealed he has a new role now, labeling himself “Daddy/Mommy.”

The music maker shared footage from an early-morning ride to his kids’ school on social media Monday, showing how he has adjusted since Porter’s death about 21⁄ weeks ago. They share 2 three children together: Christian Casey Combs, 20, and twins Jessie James Combs and D’Lila Star Combs, 11.

“Today, the journey begins,” Diddy,

49, said in a video he captioned “Day 1” on Twitter, which tied together a series of Instagram Stories. “Thank y’all for all your prayers and support. I’m now a part of the 6 a.m. crew. This is Mommyslash-Daddy, Daddy-slash-Mommy checking in.”

Diddy elaborated on his new moniker later in the video.

“When y’all hear me say ‘Daddy/ Mommy,’ all my single mothers they know what that is, even some single fathers,” he said, “Guys step up and play both roles. Mothers do it all the time.”

And Diddy is embracing his new role, as he told followers.

“This Daddy/Mommy thing is beautiful. I love it,” he shared, adding there is a downside. “You just have to get up early in the morning, like real early, like early.”

Back on Instagram Stories, he continued to document his day, after telling his followers to follow Quincy, Porter’s

27-year-old son with singer Al B. Sure!. Diddy visited Los Angeles’ Runyon Canyon for a workout. “Man, definitely give all glory to God (for) just waking me up this morning, my kids having the strength to go to school,” he said offcamera, sharing his view.

He added his strenuous workout is a metaphor for living.

“This is life right here, all of these cliffs and rocks ...” he said.

“God gave me the strength to be back on my two feet,” he continued. “It took a minute, and now I’mma tackle this hill, mountain, whatever this crazy thing is. I love y’all.”

“One step at a time, one step a time,” he encouraged himself.

Diddy eulogized Porter when she was laid to rest Nov. 24 in her hometown of Columbus, Georgia. In audio of an emotional eulogy, obtained by TMZ, Diddy talked about how Porter taught him how to love and helped him battle depression.

“I didn’t really understand like how to love,” he said. “We went through some circumstances, my mother and family, where it’s like we didn’t have a big family like that, but she really just started breaking down the exterior of any shell I put up.

“From the top of the year, I was going through a real dark time and was really depressed … and she would come over and make sure (I was OK). We wasn’t together like that but she was that type of person.”

Porter died suddenly at her Los Angeles home on Nov. 15 at age 47, but the cause of death has not yet been established by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s office. An autopsy was performed the next day, but the results were deferred for further testing, which could take weeks.

“When me say y’all ‘Daddy/ hear Mommy,’ all my single mothers they know what that is, even some single fathers. Guys step up and play both roles. Mothers do it all the time.”
