The star paid off the balances of 350 layaway accounts at a Walmart store in Nashville. Rock gave the Tennessee store about $81,000 to pay down the layaways, says Tom Meyer, the Walmart’s manager. Rock wrote on Twitter that he was following the lead of director Tyler Perry, who paid off $434,000 worth of layaways at two Atlanta-area Walmarts last week.
