Ital­ian Prime Min­is­ter Giuseppe Conte said five Euro­pean Union na­tions – Ger­many, France, Por­tu­gal, Ro­ma­nia and Malta – stepped for­ward to ac­cept mi­grants stuck at sea on a hu­man­i­tar­ian ship off Si­cily.
